On 08/22/12, at approximately 1:15 AM, Northeast officers conducted an arrest of two Car burglares suspects in the Los Feliz community. When suspects were interviewed by officers, they stated that they did not want to break into cars, they only wanted to steal from cars that were UNLOCKED and get "stuff" that was easily accessible and quick.
This is a reminder to all residents in the Northeast communities to secure your property, "harden the target" for suspects. Do not leave wallets, GPS, laptops, Ipods etc etc., in plainview. The weather is warm right now and we are tempted to keep windows unlocked and open. Please do not. Burglary suspects are looking for the easiest way into your cars and homes. For folks living in apartments and with underground parking, don't be complacent and think your property is secured. Burglary suspect wait for the metal gates to open and enter when no one is looking. Leaving keys and garage clickers in the car is a very bad idea. Suspects return and use clickers to get back into carports to steal more property.
Thank you.
